Also any photos you may have of present or past.
Mark TrevithickNice looking launch. From the mountains in the background I'm guessing that was at Blackrock.

At one time I had designs for an I motor record attempt, but without software such as Algor, I dropped the project out of concerns the fins would shear on lift off. From 0 to supersonic in less than a second would have been more than the airframe and fins could withstand and safety became the primary concern.
Good looking rockets. less

What I motor where you going to use and is it a min. diameter bird?
I have found that just good old carbon fiber body and aircraft plywood core fins can hold to lot more than you think. The way I make my fins . I start with a 1/16 aircraft plywood. the I layer on carbon fiber. Each layer is a little larger then the last.. This layering makes a fin that I haven been able to break. I like your idea of using Algor to strees the bird. But I not had much luck with.
I am working on a quad hybrid two stage.I do not know right now what motors I'm going us in the first stage. The second stage is going to a N1000.
I love going high and fast like around mach 3-4. less

The motor by Kosdon was a the only 29 mm I motor series in existance. He has two of them as I recall. I bought the most powerful one; an I-560. 24" aluminum motor casing with an exhaust bore of about 0.625" if I remember correctly. It would burn the entire grain in 0.6 seconds. I still have the motore casing and thats about all I still have. I may still have one of Tommy Billingsly's altimeters, but may have thrown out the chutes and drogue I had specifically made for it by Ky Michalson aka Rocketman.
My body tube had an ID of 29 mm and was glass wrapped. My fins were designed after hours of computer modeling and were about 150 % stabilizing at launch velocities, but were quite small. I made them out of 1/16th inch G10. They were only about 2.5" long, 1" wide, and had a triangular shape reminiscent of the Nike series and the razors of some hunting arrows.

I just wondering what might in the works for the up coming fling season. I presonly am working a 4 stage bird (no details right still in the dream state. May be you all come up with some ideas. Let's see if can Alice her ride to moon.
