Felix G.'s Album: 1:22,5 Streetcar scale model

This is a project for a streetcar IIm scale (1:22,5) model. It is based on a real prototype serie that existed but everything was scraped in the 1950's. Construction with various materials, but notably: -laser cut MDF parts by Ponoko Italy - Vectorealism -PU castings parts with RTV silicone molds made with 3D printed master parts (Shapeways). The parts are printed in their "transparent Detail" material, which is their name for the Objet PolyJet process. This will be a motorized and functional model, with lights and connector to allow me to connect a DCC digital decoder later. There is always some guesswork to do while designing this kind of model, because the drawings were at this time (1905) not done exactly at the today standards. Cut views are especially troublesome because the drafter did not indicate where the cut goes trough… And I can’t measure on the realscale one because it doesn’t exist anymore…

sidenote: SMD 0805 leds are nice to solder with a 15W soldering iron. Specification sheet says 5 seconds at 250C° max, but they seem to be much more resistant !
I cover the led with a "Crystal Araldite" drop, this makes it looking exactly like a bulb.
